Think & Process

For concentration and relaxation, what is needed is a fragrance that gently spreads, not unpredictable scattering ashes. Focus and rest require ample space. Both lying and upright incense holders take up desk space, while thought and concentration arise from empty space. An out-of-the-box idea: an incense holder that holds incense upside-down to take up minimal space. A simple holder using friction to grip the incense stick, with a heavy, concave base that catches ash and provides stability.

In 2015, mockups were created in plaster and acrylic in the studio, and prototypes were completed with artisans in Mullae-dong, Seoul. Since 2017, multiple versions have been added with various materials and finishes.
