Biography
From a young age, I was always drawn to objects of all kinds. Pebbles, ice cream sticks, glass fragments, and plastic containers would fill my basket, arranged in rows and columns in my room. During my teenage years, this fascination shifted to stationery. Collecting school supplies that appealed to me became my hobby. Along the way, I constantly asked myself: Why do products that reveal their raw materials feel more beautiful than painted ones? Why are some structures inherently more appealing than others?
When I first encountered sculpture, it felt as natural as something I had been doing all my life. What captivated me most was the ability to recreate the allure I had observed in objects since childhood. I became deeply engaged in understanding how to make a form appear "complete," how to structure it to defy gravity, how individual parts could harmonize by yielding to one another, and how three-dimensional elements interact to evoke emotion. Over time, by mastering tools and materials, I found answers to the questions I had long been asking myself.
Eventually, my fascination with collecting objects evolved into a pursuit of creating them. My attraction to objects naturally extended to tools. If assigned a school project, I would not only complete the task but also craft the tools and items I needed for it. For example, during a plaster casting assignment, I began by designing the tools and even the worktable.
After graduating, I started to choose my own subjects for creation. From desks and file organizers to trolleys and pencil holders, I crafted every large and small item necessary for my studio and daily life. While I enjoyed making things that were both functional and aesthetically pleasing, the process of creation itself became a purpose.
Now, as I manage my studio, I am fully immersed in the exploration of giving forms functionality while simultaneously expanding their aesthetic value. The act of imbuing shapes with purpose and creating a synergy that maximizes their aesthetic impact is, for me, a driving force of creation.
