Arumjigi Exhibition: Time States - Contradiction and Accordance

by Seoul National University Museum of Art & Arumjigi Foundation

Seoul National University Museum of Art (Entire Building) / March 24 (Fri) – May 28 (Sun), 2023

As society emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic, more people find it difficult to establish and maintain social connections. While they have become adept at expressing themselves in online spaces, many struggle with isolation and fragmentation in the offline world. The Two Proofs of Time – Contradiction and Reason proposes a response to this social issue through traditional values. The exhibition presents 75 works by contemporary artists capturing slices of modern life centered on essentials such as food, clothing, and shelter, alongside 100 pieces from the Arumjigi Foundation collection, which harmonize the beauty of tradition with the convenience suitable for today’s practical uses. Together, these pieces invite visitors to reflect on the essence of daily life.
